Your Protestant wedding in a unique location!

Our wedding planners are at your side to organize your Protestant wedding remotely. Beyond a wedding of faith and tradition, a Protestant wedding is a commitment of love between the spouses and to the Church, made in the secrecy of hearts. However, the nuptial blessing is not a sacrament, unlike that of a Catholic wedding. The religious service is celebrated by a pastor, the spiritual guide of the spouses, who will bless the couple’s union. Puglia and Corsica await you for a magnificent seaside wedding. A ceremony you will remember for the rest of your life!

THE PARTICULARITIES OF A PROTESTANT WEDDING

A Protestant wedding is one of the simplest religious ceremonies. First of all, because the ceremony can take place anywhere. Although it is customary to meet in a temple, it will be entirely possible to choose the location and decoration of your choice: In the gardens of a magnificent masserie in Puglia, on a heavenly beach in Corsica, or even in an evangelical church in Italy. In addition, the documents required to celebrate a Protestant wedding are simple and quick to obtain. However, the transmission of the civil wedding certificate is an essential document to be able to unite the couple spiritually. Indeed, a Protestant wedding can only be celebrated after the celebration of the civil wedding (just like a Catholic wedding or a Jewish wedding). It is possible to celebrate a Protestant wedding every day of the week except Sunday. The bride and groom are free to choose their attire, whether it's finding your wedding suit or choosing a wedding dress. Since 2015, the Protestant Church has recognized the celebration of same-sex wedding. Furthermore, it is entirely possible to celebrate a mixed wedding for couples with different religious affiliations. Finally, the Protestant Church accepts remarriages in the case of couples divorced from a previous union. All that is required is to present the extract of the divorce certificate. Celebrate your love and your commitment under the blessing of God!

THE PREPARATION AND CONDUCT OF A PROTESTANT WEDDING

The simplicity of Protestant weddings makes them quick and easy to organize. Religious preparation is carried out with the pastor of your place of residence in France. Contact him as soon as possible to understand all the preparation requirements. Generally, a few months are enough to choose the texts and the ceremony. The preparation takes place in the form of informal interviews between the couple and the pastor to understand their motivations and values. The ceremony lasts approximately one hour. It is entirely possible to involve your loved ones in the ceremony through readings of texts or speeches. You will need to inform your wedding planner in advance so that she can plan these interventions. Unlike a Catholic wedding, the bride and groom enter together. The couple is then alone, without guests, with the pastor signing the religious registers. The guests then join them to listen to the reading of the Bible, the exchange of consents and the exchange of rings. Unlike an Orthodox wedding, there is no blessing of the rings. The ceremony concludes with the pastor handing over the Bible to the newlyweds in order to spread the divine word in their home and guide them in their daily faith.

A PROTESTANT WEDDING CEREMONY IN ITALY

The civil ceremony can take place before or during the Protestant ceremony since the Italian state recognizes the Protestant Church. Unlike a Catholic wedding, which is prepared by a priest, a Protestant wedding is officiated by a pastor. You can choose to have a French pastor come and celebrate your wedding in Italy. All you will need is authorization from the Italian parish. If, on the other hand, you prefer to use the services of an Italian pastor, we can put you in touch with Protestant pastors in Puglia. If necessary, the wedding file will be prepared with the French pastor, who will forward it to the Italian parish where the wedding will take place. The instructions given by parishes vary, so it is important to inquire on a case-by-case basis. Since many pastors in Italy do not speak French, we usually recommend printing bilingual ceremony booklets that will allow everyone to follow the mass. This way, the readings and prayers can be performed in French, and the rest of the ceremony in Italian. If you wish, we can also provide you with an interpreter who will translate the pastor's remarks. In Corsica (and in France in general) the civil ceremony cannot be performed at the same time as the religious ceremony.
